Potters 12 Days of Christmas

Over the past few weeks, the Potters Poultry teams have been getting into the festive spirit with our own version of the 12 Days of Christmas. We’ve joined forces with the USA team to put a poultry twist on the classic lyrics and whether it’s been eight families farming or twelve hens a laying, our countdown has been spreading Christmas cheer to all our customers.

Here’s a round-up of the 12 days:

  1. On the first day of Christmas Potters gave to me, an Open Aviary.

Our open aviary is low and open, meaning all birds can be seen and managed from floor level.

  1. On the second day of Christmas Potters gave to me, two helping hands and an Open Aviary.

At Potters our amazing teams are always here for our customers around the clock, on hand with support and advice.

  1. On the third day of Christmas Potters gave to me, three drinker lines, two helping hands and an Open Aviary.

We consider ourselves to be the one stop shop for all your poultry needs. From aviaries and drinker lines and everything in between.

  1. On the fourth day of Christmas Potters gave to me, four feed chains, three drinker lines, two helping hands and an Open Aviary.

When it comes to our equipment and pullets every detail counts, therefore we make sure you never forget the essentials.

  1. On the fifth day of Christmas Potters gave to me, five Avinests, four feed chains, three drinker lines, two helping hands and an Open Aviary.

Our Avinests are strong and simple nesting systems which are designed for longer life and years of trouble-free use.

  1. On the sixth day of Christmas Potters gave to me, six floors a lifting, five Avinests, four feed chains, three drinker lines, two helping hands and an Open Aviary.

Keeping the nest floors functional and clean at all times is critical to ensure first quality eggs are maximised. Our rack and pinion floor lift system is designed and engineered to ensure continuous smooth operation.

  1. On the seventh day of Christmas Potters gave to me, seven pads for nesting, six floors a lifting, five Avinests, four feed chains, three drinker lines, two helping hands and an Open Aviary.

We only provide the best for our customers’ hens at Potters, making them very inviting and comfortable, increasing egg numbers and ensuring quality is maximised.

  1. On the eighth day of Christmas Potters gave to me, eight families farming, seven pads for nesting, six floors a lifting, five Avinests, four feed chains, three drinker lines, two helping hands and an Open Aviary.

Family is extremely important to us at Potters. Did you know Justin and Olivia are the third generation of Potters to run our family business?

  1. On the ninth day of Christmas Potters gave to me, nine slats for resting, eight families farming, seven pads for nesting, six floors a lifting, five Avinests, four feed chains, three drinker lines, two helping hands and an Open Aviary.

We are very passionate about the high-level of welfare that our equipment provides to our pullets and our customers’ hens.  Our slats are designed to guarantee comfort for birds of all ages.

  1. On the tenth day of Christmas Potters gave to me, ten chicks a cheeping, nine slats for resting, eight families farming, seven pads for nesting, six floors a lifting, five Avinests, four feed chains, three drinker lines, two helping hands and an Open Aviary.

When rearing pullets, the most important factors to consider are feed, water, temperature, air quality and light. We’ve learnt if you get all of these factors right, they should grow into healthy and resilient, strong pullets.

  1. On the eleventh day of Christmas Potters gave to me, eleven blocks for pecking, ten chicks a cheeping, nine slats for resting, eight families farming, seven pads for nesting, six floors a lifting, five Avinests, four feed chains, three drinker lines, two helping hands and an Open Aviary.

A hen that is not provided with adequate enrichment and mental stimulation is more likely to start behaving badly in lay through actions like feather pecking and bullying. We provide all of our pullets with a variety of enrichments to keep them stimulated.

  1. On the twelfth day of Christmas Potters gave to me, twelve hens a laying, eleven blocks for pecking, ten chicks a cheeping, nine slats for resting, eight families farming, seven pads for nesting, six floors a lifting, five Avinests, four feed chains, three drinker lines, two helping hands and an Open Aviary.

For almost 60 years Potters have been rearing high quality pullets producing fantastic results for our customers.
